Wow! I haven't posted in the past week cause we have been running nonstop!
First, let me update you about our butterfly project. We have butterflies! The first one came out overnight Thursday night. By Saturday morning, all 4 caterpillars had turned into butterflies! I have a few pics, but they aren't the best quality, so excuse that.
This past week has been filled with doing nothing but basically getting Jaelynn ready for Kindergarten. Thursday night was orientation. As we were pulling up to her school, I was trying to keep her excited so I said "Oh man, I'm so excited!". What was my wonderful daughters' response? "Mom, don't freak out. It's ok". I guess I forget how grown she is. I can see now, she's going to be the kid telling me to go away I'm embarassing her, lol.
We got to meet her teacher and see her classroom.. Her teacher's name is Mrs. Sanders and the assistant is Mrs. Boron. Both seem very nice, and ready for the school year! They also had a school bus out front, and all the kids got to get on, and go for a ride around the parking lot. We got on the bus, and a lot of parents were sitting with their kids to help them get used to it. I asked her if she wanted me to sit with her, and Ms. Independent kicked me off the bus: "No, it's ok you can get off". I'm really glad she's so ready and confident about the bus and school!
Friday was meet and greet at school More getting to hang out with her teacher a bit, dropping off school supplies, and saw a few of the kids that will be in her class. (I've already picked out the little boy I want to be her boyfriend. He was such a cutie!)
Labor day weekend was busy as usual. I took the kids to the pool since we hadn't been all summer. Jaelynn and Axton both love the water so much. I laid Axton on his belly at the end of the pool where the water would wash up and down the edge. He was kicking around like a natural swimmer! He played in the fountains, and was laughing and splashing around in them. Jaelynn, of course, made friends and ran around with them.
After gymnastics, we got to see Jaelynn at her horseback riding lessons for the first time! Big girl decided she wanted to ride the big horse, instead of the pony this week-and boy was it a BIG horse. She is doing SO well at it. Her posture is unbelievable. We saw her ttrot, and she is posting (bouncing up and down as the horse trots) so well. Her teachers do nothing but rave about how talented she is. They said most kids her age up until about 8, don't pick up so quickly and have to be reminded constantly what to do.
The best part of watching her ride was at the end, she told her teacher she wanted her daddy to ride the horse. Of course, Mike couldn't say no to her AND her teacher, so up he went! He had never been in a horse, and he got thrown right in! Helmet (Jaelynn's-so it was about 23098 times to small!) and all!
After riding, we headed to my mom's for her annual crab feast.
The rest of the weekend was just spent running around picking up last minute things for school, cooking out with family, and picking for the family fantasy football!
I love long weekends, cooking out with family, and spending time with babies. This weekend was a special one, not only is it the end of summer but it starts the beginning of school for Jaelynn! Can't wait for the next update to let you guys know how amazing (hopefully) she does!
