Birthday Party, Crawling, Horseback Riding, and Redskins!

Yep, you guessed it! Another busy weekend for the Vance household!
Last week it rained ALL week, and there was flooding everywhere.  School was closed (code green) on Friday, so Jaelynn got her first day out of school already!  Friday night the kids and I got to meet my bestest friend Kenny for dinner!  We went to Uncle Julios in Woodbridge and had a BLAST.   I forget how much I miss him until we hang out! I wish he'd move back to Virginia =(

Saturday started as usual with gymnastics.  Afterwards, we all went to Babies R Us to check out convertible car seats.  Target had a sale all week on car seats, but I needed to be sure that the one I wanted fit.  Babies R' Us is pretty awesome and let you take out a floor model to your car to make sure it fits before buying it.  Luckily, the one I wanted (My Rid 65) fit!  So, off to Target with 2 goals in mind: car seat and a Birthday present for Taevon.
The car seat we wanted was on sale for $70 dollars off because the color is being discontinued, so we got an awesome deal and it'll last Axton the rest of his car seat life! He looks so tiny in it now, but he loved it!

Next, we headed to Fredericksburg to hang out at the house, before heading to the birthday party.  Here, we watched Axton discover that he can get up on his knees, and he REALLY wants to crawl!  I was AMAZED since Friday he wasn't getting up on his knees or showing any interest.
I got a quick video of him (ok, 3 videos) trying on my phone:
Axton trying to Crawl 9/10/11-1
Axton trying to crawl 9/10/11-2
Axton trying to crawl-3

Taevon's 4th birthday party was at Old Mill Park in Fredericksburg.  It was a nice, relaxing party and the weather was perfect!

After cake, Mike thought it would be fun to mess with Taevon. So, what did he do??

Yep...smash his head into the cake. Taevon was NOT happy, but everyone else found it pretty funny.

Sunday was another day filled with running around.  Jaelynn had horseback riding and got to do something new.  The teacher took her off of the lead rope, and Jaelynn had to steer LV (her horse-Little Vegas) around to "Follow the Leader".  She did really well, and loved learning something new!

After this was the most important part of any Fall Sunday in our house....FOOTBALL! The kids and I decked out in our Redskins gear and headed to Grandma Shirley's for an awesome dinner she cooked.  The family was there keeping tabs on our Fantasy Football, enjoying good food, and good company.  Redskins beat the Giants 28-14! Go Skins!
