This past week has been a terror. Axton's cold turned out to be Hand/Foot/Mouth Virus. So I was home with him most of the time. What did this lead to, of course? Me getting sick. I'm finally starting to get a LITTLE better, but still not 100%.
The weekend was busy again, per usual.
Saturday consisted of Gymastics, Target, home to shower/get ready, Shante's birthday cookout, Sam's birthday party at Rebounderz (coolest place EVER), then out to Auld Shebeen's for Shante's birthday. We had tons of fun and it was nice to hang out with our friends that we haven't been with for a while.
Sunday was the usual horseback riding, then we headed to my moms for a bit to hang out.
Then came Monday. And what does Monday mean? Monday.Night.Football. Redskins vs. Cowboys. I got in awesome leg warmers for the kids, and headed outside to take some pics!
Of course we lost the game in the last couple minutes (per usual) but it wasn't a shut out! There's always December!

Quick Video
Quick video I got of Axton crawling on 9/21/11. Boy am I already not liking this mobility thing. Apparantly my shoes, laptop charger, phone charger, PS3 controllers, and surround sound speakers are more tasty and amusing than his 20938402384 toys that are all over the floor!

5 Months-late
As usual it's been a busy week here! Axton has started moving around nonstop! He's trying sooo hard to crawl. He is getting up on his hands and knees, and rocking. he scoots his legs forward then flings himself forward. If he gets frustrated he rolls to wherever he wants to go. Yesterday he started to push himself from hands/knees to his butt, and is tripoding to sit. I don't think he realizes he can sit completely up when he does that, but I don't see it being long before he figures that out too! He is growing so quickly! Despite a busy week I did manage to take Axton's 5 Month pics. So here they are:
This past weekend was pretty busy. Saturday I went to Alexandria to go to the Mile Long Yard sale. I found some cute toys for Axton- a big Tonka truck that's soft, 4 little cars that are soft, and a vtech push toy that spins for $11! Afterwards I went to Al's Steakhouse and got the world's BEST steak, egg and cheese everrrrrr. Sunday we went to Kings Dominion. Jaelynn rode the Scooby Doo roller coaster for the first time and loved it! She also went on the 3D Spongebob Movie, and a few other rides.
Our trip was cut short (just 3ish hours) because Axton started getting pretty sick.
Sunday night turned into an all out screaming fest with Axton. He's had a runny nose, coughing, congestion and started getting a rash all over his back. Monday the rash started to come to his stomach and then to his legs. His eyes were red/swollen/watery, so I took him to the doctor just to be sure it wasn't something more than a cold. Pediatrician said it was just a viral infection/rash and just let it run it's course, so I"m feeling much better about that. Unfortunately I woke up this morning, and his diaper isn't wet like it usually is and I'm afraid he may be getting dehydrated. Right now we're watching it, and calling the doctor back at 12 to give an update.
Because I'm obsessed with how cute my baby girl is, here's a pic of her outfit today. She's a diva at heart.

Birthday Party, Crawling, Horseback Riding, and Redskins!
Yep, you guessed it! Another busy weekend for the Vance household!
Last week it rained ALL week, and there was flooding everywhere. School was closed (code green) on Friday, so Jaelynn got her first day out of school already! Friday night the kids and I got to meet my bestest friend Kenny for dinner! We went to Uncle Julios in Woodbridge and had a BLAST. I forget how much I miss him until we hang out! I wish he'd move back to Virginia =(
Saturday started as usual with gymnastics. Afterwards, we all went to Babies R Us to check out convertible car seats. Target had a sale all week on car seats, but I needed to be sure that the one I wanted fit. Babies R' Us is pretty awesome and let you take out a floor model to your car to make sure it fits before buying it. Luckily, the one I wanted (My Rid 65) fit! So, off to Target with 2 goals in mind: car seat and a Birthday present for Taevon.
The car seat we wanted was on sale for $70 dollars off because the color is being discontinued, so we got an awesome deal and it'll last Axton the rest of his car seat life! He looks so tiny in it now, but he loved it!
Next, we headed to Fredericksburg to hang out at the house, before heading to the birthday party. Here, we watched Axton discover that he can get up on his knees, and he REALLY wants to crawl! I was AMAZED since Friday he wasn't getting up on his knees or showing any interest.
I got a quick video of him (ok, 3 videos) trying on my phone:

Taevon's 4th birthday party was at Old Mill Park in Fredericksburg. It was a nice, relaxing party and the weather was perfect!
After cake, Mike thought it would be fun to mess with Taevon. So, what did he do??
Yep...smash his head into the cake. Taevon was NOT happy, but everyone else found it pretty funny.
Sunday was another day filled with running around. Jaelynn had horseback riding and got to do something new. The teacher took her off of the lead rope, and Jaelynn had to steer LV (her horse-Little Vegas) around to "Follow the Leader". She did really well, and loved learning something new!
After this was the most important part of any Fall Sunday in our house....FOOTBALL! The kids and I decked out in our Redskins gear and headed to Grandma Shirley's for an awesome dinner she cooked. The family was there keeping tabs on our Fantasy Football, enjoying good food, and good company. Redskins beat the Giants 28-14! Go Skins!
